Description
Chipmunks are small, striped rodents of the family Sciuridue. Chipmunks are found in North America, with the exception of the Siberian chipmunk with is found primarily in Asia. Species of Chipmunks:

Eastern Chipmunk, Siberian Chipmunk, Least Chipmunk

Long eared Chipmunk, Yellow-pine Chipmunk, Colorado Chipmunk,

Red tailed chipmunk

They will not let you pick them up, unless they are extremely tame and familiar with human contact or touch. To make your chipmunk more friendly, start handling him from day one assuming that you get a baby chipmunk hibernate in winter, but they don’t sleep all the way through the season. They retreat to their burrows but wake every few days, raise their body temperatures to normal feed on stored food rather than fat reserves, and urinate and defecate.

Lifecycle: The eastern Chipmunk defends its burrow and lives solitary life, except during mating season; females usually produce one or two litters of three to five young. The two breeding seasons are from February to April and from June to August.
